GET LOST!!

Mission Street Scramble 2013 shirt designStreet Scramble® events are a great way to explore a new city or neighborhood or discover hidden gems of one you thought you knew well. Using the course map and your question sheet, visit as many of the 30 (or so) checkpoints on foot or bike as you can in the time limit, usually 90 minutes or 3 hours. Get together a team of friends or family, or enjoy a solo challenge!

Street Scramble® is a registered trademark of Meridian Geographics, a Seattle-based adventure-sport company. MerGeo produced over 60 successful Street Scramble events between 2004 and 2012, including events in Millbrae. Get Lost!!, working with MerGeo, brought Street Scramble back to the Bay Area in 2011.

Instead of, or in addition to, the plain-old paper passport/scorecard, Get Lost!! offers our Street Scramble event participants a cellphone-based electronic scoring option. Points are tabulated and the results are ready for the participants instantly as they arrive at the finish. Another option is to read QR codes displayed by businesses. If you are a business and are interested in promoting your enterprise by featuring its location, and perhaps products and offerings, at a Street Scramble event, please contact us.

Later in 2013, we plan to test a GPS-based competitor tracking system at Street Scramble events. Checkpoint visits will be scored instantly and automatically upon approaching the target within 20 meters. An audible beep will serve as confirmation. Routes will be quickly uploaded for post-event analysis.

Also worth mentioning:

  • The Urban Wild Roundup series of navigation-based events, held by our sister organization, terraloco. The Roundup features creative courses, usually on multiple maps of varying heritage, sometimes point-to-point—a jazzy take on the concept.
  • San Francisco and Seattle Night & Day Challenge events, the grandmama of Street Scramble. These are your mega-supersize chances at urban (and not so urban) adventures. Hosted by Meridian Geographics for eight successful seasons. Street Scramble and Urban Wild Roundup events are the perfect training for these supreme tests of physical and mental endurance!
